A Bright Bargain!

Yesterday morning I was scratching my head trying to think of what I could put in the corner of my dining room to brighten it up a bit more.

I thought about the furniture we already own and wondered which piece I could paint in a teal/blue shade to add colour, and yet blend in with other changes we are making in our decor.

I didn't want anything too large or heavy looking  - just some fun element to make me smile and give me a place to play with my "stuff"!

SomeOne was listening!!
When hubby and I went to the garbage dump to get rid of some rubbish, we decided to check out the shop they have there where you can sometimes find a useful thing they will sell you extremely cheaply.
Well yesterday was my lucky day - woo-hoo!
Hubby spied this top section of an old dresser which is already painted in the exact colour I wanted, and has even been crackle-painted in the exact rustic finish that I was after!
It cost us the princely sum of five small  dollars - just $5 to get a fabulous change to that "dullish" corner!
We were chuffed :-D
It fitted beautifully and looked so cheerful and bright standing on the polished floor last night, it inspired me to paint one of our old chairs in a strong red to compliment it.
We love that corner now and are grateful for this lovely old blue cupboard that was pretty much an instant answer to our prayers!

Oh, and see those 4 blue and white plates on the bottom shelf?
They cost us another $5 from the same shop.

We got a pretty good bargain in my book, lol!
